The Other Jaén interview with Paul Ortega, local secretary of the Communist Youth Collective

The Other Jaén: Tell us about the CJC.

The January 13, 1985, the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain created the State Commission for the CJC, the first temporary address of the Collectives of Young Communists. It was a year of the founding of the then Communist Party , Popularly known as PC and "point", which later would add the tagline "the People", after the complaint lodged by the Communist Party of Spain, to understand that the name of the new communist organization created confusion among citizens , and the court ruling in their favor, and the Marxist-Leninist project refounded for the English government recognized the need for an organization fighting for the Communist youth.

The history of the CJC can not be understood outside the history of communist movement in the English State. Its foundation tried to be a turning point that marked the beginning of recovery of Leninism and the abandonment of Euro-communism, characterized by the resignations project ideological parallel to the reconciliation of classes, the electoral struggle and internal battles. The CJC has always believed in an organization operating in the struggles of the street, offering organization and struggle with real and concrete problems of youth, with a cohesive and dynamic structure based on democratic centralism and bureaucracy away from everything.

EOJ: What do the 2010 assessment as to the relationship between reform and social mobilization regressive?

Agreements between CCOO, UGT, government and employers, are treason the entire working class because it is agreed, we like it or not, in the name of it, claiming to represent their interests. They are also agreeing to give up many achievements that the working class of this country once had as a result of their heroic struggle for centuries.

The pact is justified solely by the needs of English capitalism, is undergoing a profound crisis of accumulation. Structural crisis which capital can not be sold.

In this extreme situation, and Mendez Toxo turn to for the relief of the class enemy. Assume the defense of the interests of the oligarchy as the priority and put the working class tied hand and foot, capital available to provide a higher rate of exploitation of workers in the English State in an environment of social peace.

It deepens the ideological disarmament of the working class, servile unionism has starred in recent decades.

In a situation as serious as this, we need to organize and raise awareness. It is necessary to distinguish between the leaders traitors, and thousands of trade unionists and working class sectors who do not share this action. Therefore it is not the time to divide the class, but when looking for the broadest possible unity to articulate a big block against labor and popular the partnership agreement and against peace under.

Far from staging a battle of acronyms, there are now cross-promoting mechanisms that drive most of the class, regardless of union affiliation. The PCPE already proposed a few months ago, following a major internal debate over the labor movement, the creation of the Workers Unity Committee (CUO), which aim to create a militant trade union platform, a type of trade unionism by the prominence given assembly, and unity of action of every employee to share this proposal, without having to renounce their union acronym.

times ahead will be very hard for the proletariat. But these situations always offer new opportunities to break the chains, and make what seemed impossible for decades.

English Capitalism can find some respite with treason agreed, but you can also find the beginning of a stage where the radical working class struggle and the massive substitution of the controlled setting of struggles he has faced so far.

capitalist crisis of the English State, as part of the international crisis ahead for the sharpening of class contradictions at levels much higher than today. In the near future, as always, the struggle and unity will make us stronger, and opens path to victory.

EOJ: Even in retrospect, what assessment beams 29E Strike?

The day of the 29S has meant a significant response by the working class to call for general strike. The more vigorous response of the industrial proletariat, and important sectors of transport and ports, mark this day of struggle as a foothold for opening a new phase of working class and popular struggle against the capitalist crisis and against the system same.

The working class must be aware that with a day's strike was not defeated by adopting policies that this government will, or approve the next. The fight is a radical struggle between two blocs that are increasingly more exclusive, on one hand the working class and popular sectors as a whole, and secondly the oligarchy and its lackeys. The struggle is between the interests and rights of the majority and the interests of the exploitative and parasitic elite.

hegemonic block today will not hesitate to apply all the violence it deems necessary to try to preserve their privileged position. Police violence, workplace violence, violence in all types of social relations and violence in the imperialist war of pillage and plunder.

not go into a war of numbers, even cherish if the majority unions put all eggs in one basket for the general strike was successful, I appreciate it was a day of struggle and demanded from below, away from the formalism of those who actually have the ability to call from state institutions in Ultimately, a good starting point if you continue betting on a scenario of sustained struggle and vindication, because the context of the struggle is hard and long journey.

EOJ: What provision do social mobilization in 2011 and which you think might be the workhorses of the organizations opposed to capitalism?

We are faced with a context transit, we are moving from a scenario where "social peace" imposed by the so-called "social partners" did not presage any fight and uniting broad sectors of society to a situation in which the most precarious and mistreated by the advancement of neoliberalism are becoming aware of their situation.

But the worsening of the overall situation will not in itself a great social movement is possible, let alone to succeed their claims. In Europe and have experienced similar situations that instead of leading the working class to achieve its objectives have become in the triumph of Nazi-fascism.

Therefore, anti-capitalist we have a historic mission, we should be able to combat xenophobic and fascist ideology that is being imposed in some circles as a feasible solution to the crisis of the capitalist system, in turn, must confront the opportunist currents that divide and propose a "social capitalism or friendly face" as a solution to the "savage neoliberalism."

We are obliged to be able to uncover the lies that are instilled in the working class through the media and the ruling class. It is the duty of all anti-capitalists seek points according to lead us to reverse the current situation. We have lost too much time, it is time to act.

EOJ: As a youth, and being a specific organization in this regard, what role do you think young people can play in future mobilizations.

Almost 50% of young people under thirty years of age are unemployed, young people from working more than 75% do so temporarily or in precarious situations, or temporarily and precariously at the same time- we had more facilities than our parents in our childhood, but, however, unlike our parents, we have no future.

global economic organizations have recognized that for the first time in the history of humanity will have generations of young people whose quality of life will be less than that of their predecessors. Humanity, instead of forward, backward.

In this perspective, young people must organize and fight for a future that the capitalist system denies us, we can only lose our chains, for the present and even future and we have stolen.

EOJ: Down a bit to the realm of local, how do you assess the government of the PSOE in Andalusia?

The Socialist Party is a party to serve large corporations and banks, incredibly still has great prestige in many sectors of the working class, although the primary responsibility of the major labor reforms that have taken place from Franco, that legalized temporary work, that has fully embraced and imperialist military structure of NATO, that has approved the retirement at age 67, that created and nurtured the dirty war that is based, to suppress the sectors of society more aware, security forces have been repeatedly accused by Amnesty International as torture, etc.., etc., etc.

live in a neofranquismo, the dictator was right when he said that "everything was tied up and well tied", a system of alternating parties as at the time of the Restoration. PP and PSOE are alternated in power, but both represent the same values, their differences are of degree, both agree on the major macroeconomic issues and the neo-imperialist strategy.

He should not say anything about its management in Andalusia, the figures speak for themselves, today thousands of Andalusians are migrating abroad to have access to a future as thirty years ago, those who decide to stay here are doomed the unemployment and insecurity. The problem is that many Andalusian believe that with the change of government in the Andalusian things will get better. Err long, the problem is not an acronym, is political.

EOJ: And in the city of Jaen?

The city of Jaén is a clear example of that is expected to lie ahead for Spain.

PSIU
's government (PSOE + Izquierda Unida), which many progressives involved a door of hope after years of government of the PP, has shown the limitations to transform society, the collusion between " capitalist human "and social, not to make a break with the capitalist system and limited to make management more social makeup of the Partido Popular, but with the same negative results for all workers.

Major projects undertaken in the city have been carried back to the city, without explaining what it meant to them and, most importantly, without the consent of the people. We can argue whether or not projects are good for the city of Jaen, but we can not argue that these projects have sparked backlash, even from sections of the left, and that has not been sought by the government of the PSIU participation in the discussion on the suitability of it or not.

Examples of collaboration between the PSOE and Izquierda Unida, in various areas of public administration, Generalitat of Catalonia, Asturias, municipalities of Sevilla, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bCórdoba ...-, have shown us countless times that we should not harbor any hope in this type of government. We face the eternal debate on the left between "reform" or "revolution." Anti-capitalists can expect nothing PSIU, because they are comfortable within the system and do not bet on a change in itself, but by a deepening of liberal democracy, in short, small patches of the capitalist system.

EOJ: What do you think can be the most important weaknesses of the organizations and social movements antagonistic to capitalism in Jaen?

general division of the left is the clearest case that makes the anti-capitalist movements are not a real alternative to the existing system. Unity is strength, we must seek what unites us and work together in areas where we share the same concerns, complaints aside useless in most cases inherited from our predecessors, which in no way help us in our daily work and we divided into sterile discussions.

ideological diversity should not be a problem, on the contrary, different schools of thought can complement anti-capitalist, two heads are always better than one. Just do not let it be fought on both sides of the front, or is on one side of the trench or is in the other, there are organizations that are defined as "real and transforming the left" but when truth apply a policy favorable to capital, because they question the validity of capitalism as an economic system of domination and propose reforms engaged in partial to it.

Our proposal in the city of Jaén is unity of action of all anti-capitalist forces, so we proposed the creation of the Left Front. Unfortunately, the front ends no curdling, by obstinacy, for several peers influence what divides us, and also by the negative propaganda towards the Left Front which makes the organization very pretentiously proclaims itself as the aim to achieve left unity, but at the moment of truth does not advocate the liquidation of capitalism and complies with minor amendments to the principles of the most controversial.

EOJ: And your strengths?

The most important asset anticapitalist organizations is the firm belief that they possess that capitalism is an unjust economic system that kills thousands of people in developing countries 40,000 people die of starvation a day according to the FAO, while the world on more than 10% of food produced, and condemned to poverty for millions of human beings, even in developed countries where a majority of support workers working conditions while a minority despicable parasite is enriched at their expense. Currently, we do not have much strength, but we are in possession of reason, and that is very important because we can always draw strength from our reason, but the capitalists can never get because of their strength.

EOJ: Do you think there should be a general strike? Does the support?

In some areas of the English State and has produced a second General Strike and our organizations in those territories have actively participated in it.

We, like many of our peers in the areas of the state where for various reasons not been able to convene a second day of fighting, we have supported this call and have been present at the show of support that have developed in different parts of Andalusia. Explaining our proposals and demanding about the unity of the working class, regardless of where they are union members, to carry out any measures deemed necessary to advance towards our goal of class, which is none other than the construction of socialism.
